The renowned Syrian artist Fadi Yazigi is introducing an as yet unseen work at the Beirut Art Fair.
Created in Yazigi’s signature style, the large, bronze sculpture comprises a wall of the artist’s instantly recognisable figures seemingly suspended at various points on their journey.
While walls can have negative connotations, this powerful work conveys positivity, from the physical support that the figures are giving each other, to the intermittent spaces, which provide light, air, and opportunities for both; dreams and survival. A base layer of angels shouldering the entire group provides further comfort and reassurance.
Yazigi’s work can be viewed at Galerie Tanit, Booth A1
